Homework Project Spring 2
Easter Term Baking Homework Project
Cherry Tree Academy Easter 2019
Cook up a storm in the kitchen. Tell us about it by:
* Writing your own recipe for a cake or a meal.
* Write a review of a meal you ate at a restaurant (or one you had at home).
* Draw a comic strip illustrating and explaining how to bake a cake.
* Bake or cook something and take photographs.
* Or choose you own way to tell us about a cooking or baking project.
Bring your project into school by Friday April 26th 2019
This half term in English we are continuing to develop our letter formation for our upper and lower case letters as well as our use of capital letters and full stops. We will be learning to retell the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We will use the words tall, taller and tallest while understanding the comparisons. We will continue to develop our use of the conjunction 'and', and use 'but', 'or' and 'because'. We will then use these skills to write the story. Later in the term we will learn to write information texts.
This half term we will be looking at designing a healthy fruit kebab in D.T. We will try various fruits to see which we prefer and then make our own kebabs evaluating the final products.
This half term we are learning about plants. This will involve planting and monitoring our own bean seed as it grows.
Please see children's diaries for weekly set spellings. Their scores will be in their diaries at the end of each week.
In year 1 the children are encouraged to pick their own book to take home and share with you. Sometimes the children may find the book challenging, please continue to encourage using the phonics sounds and discuss the tricky words. Please use the spelling and read pack provided at the parent phonics session.
Thank you for your support.
In PSHE we are going to learn about health and well-being.
Please ensure your child has their full indoor and outdoor PE kit in school at all times. Currently PE is on Thursday. Please ensure earrings are removed.
