Have a fun day!
Remote Learning during National Lockdown
All work will be set via Tapestry; a Maths, English, Phonics and further curriculum lesson and activity will be uploaded each day as well as a story to share at the end of the day. Please upload all work that is completed to Tapestry as an observation (click on the + in the top corner of the page). If you have any questions about the work set or need some support please let me know by emailing the class email address and I will get back to you ASAP.
The children have made great progress so far this year and to keep the momentum going it is vital that they complete the work the work that is set each day.
If you would like some extra work for the children to do there are some booklets below for the children to complete- if you need a hard copy- please let me know and I will arrange that for you.
You will also find some work in the 2do folder on Purple Mash as well as the Mini Mash area that the children can explore whilst logged into their Purple Mash account.
Don't forget there is also a log in for Numbots in the front of your child's reading record, this is a great way to play with Maths.
Keep safe and keep well.

Autumn 1
PSED & C&L
This half term our topic has been 'All about Me.'
We have shared our likes and dislikes and have spent lots of times learning about our similarities and differences whilst talking about our families. We have had lots of circle time experience to help us develop good communication skills, our focus has been: speaking in full sentences.
Phonics
At the beginning of term we spent some time focusing on environmental sounds, and learnt how to understand and use Fred Talk (blending and segmenting words).
We are now beginning to learn phonemes (letter sounds), so far we have learnt to hear, say and write the letters /s/a/t/p/i/n/m/d/g/o.
We can spot the phonemes in words and we are learning to use sound buttons to blend the sounds together to form words.
Reading
Reading is a very high priority for us. The children enjoy stories being read to them at last twice each day and they have free access to our relaxing and inviting book corner. We send home reading books and reading records and each child will have the oppurtunity to read to an adult at least twice a week.
Please make sure that books and reading records are returned each day.
Writing
The children are learning how to form letters as part of their Phonics lessons. We are also practicing writing their names each day- it would be helpful if this could be continued at home.
There is free access to pens and paper throughout our setting and children are encouraged to make marks, draw and write throughout the day. We also have dedicated fine motor activities to help develop the muscles needed to write.
Maths
We have been focusing on recognising numbers, counting with one to one correspondence, grouping objects and patterns.
Understanding of the World
We are currently looking at Autumn and seasonal changes.
Physical Development
The children are taught PE by a dedicated Sports Coach each Tuesday, please ensure that your child brings in their PE kit from Autumn 2
We also have a range of fine motor activities in the classroom and the children are encouraged to use gross motor movements whilst playing outside in the garden.
Tapestry
Thank you to all of the parents that have downloaded tapestry, your comments and uploads and have been great and very helpful.
Remember to keep checking Tapestry to see all of the amazing things we get up to in school, and please continue to add observations of your own!
If you haven't downloaded and logged in yet, please do, I know you will love it!
Spellings
This year the children will need to learn to read and spell the words in the link below. There are lots of great ways to practice reading and writing them, why not try…?
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
